Children of National Guardsmen & Reservists

In 2010, The First Tee of San Antonio will offer golf instruction combined with character and life skills education to children of National Guardsmen and Reservists. The initiative is made possible as part of a two-year agreement between The First Tee, a nation-wide youth development program, and the Department of Defense.


The First Tee Programs and Registration
Registration in the PLAYer level is required for first time participants ages 8 and older. Our next session starts July 25th and will be held on Sundays from 11:00AM to 12:30PM.

We currently have a waiting list for our Mighty Mites class (for 6&7 year olds) on Sundays from 9-10:30AM.

THE FOLLOWING CLASSES ARE FOR PLAYER LEVEL GRADUATES:

Par: Saturdays from 1:00-2:30PM.
Eagle and ACE: Saturdays 9:00-10:30AM.
Birdie: Saturday from 11:00AM-12:30PM.


About The First Tee of San Antonio

The First Tee of San Antonio is located at the Polo Field Golf Center in historic Brackenridge Park. We are a character education program that teaches Life Skills and Core Values through the game of golf. The program is free, and open to kids ages 6-17. Equipment is provided. The Life Skills we teach are communication, self-management, goal-setting, and resistance skills. The Nine Core Values of The First Tee are Confidence, Courtesy, Honesty, Integrity, Judgment, Perseverance, Respect, Responsibility and Sportsmanship. The curriculum is delivered by trained coaches who are dedicated golf and education professionals, with the assistance of assistant coaches, volunteers and mentors.
