Construction Underway! Construction has begun for our new Learning Center facility! Our clubhouse is now located in the Taylor House (the brown stone building) to the left of the parking lot.
Range business is unchanged, and all The First Tee classes and sessions will continue as scheduled through the year.
We anticipate a December 2008 completion date. In the meantime, "watch your step" as you navigate our grounds. The First Tee parents, you may want to plan on arriving 10-15 minutes early for sessions, as parking may be an issue. Remember that the lot across from the Valero station, and the parking area between Auggie's BBQ and Sunken Gardens are available as overflow lots.
Mighty Mites Restructured! The Mighty Mites program has been restructured! The August sessions are cancelled; and beginning Sept. 7, sessions will be held every Sunday from 1:00-2:00, through Dec. 14. (No session Oct. 5 or 12 due to Valero Texas Open; or Nov. 30 due to Thanksgiving.) As before, the program is for 6-7 year olds; no registration is required; there is no cost; and equipment is provided. This change allows us to beat the August heat, as well as offer a more regular schedule for participants to attend.

The First Tee Programs and Registration Our program is open to kids ages 6-17. 6 and 7 year olds begin in the Mighty Mites program, and ages 8 and older start at the Par level. The program is free and equipment is provided. Par sessions are held on Saturdays, and Mighty Mites sessions on Sundays. To enroll your child, simply complete a Parent Permission form, in person at the Polo Field, or downloadable on our website. We are open 8 a.m. to dark every day. About The First Tee of San Antonio The First Tee of San Antonio is located at the Polo Field Golf Center in historic Brackenridge Park. We are a character education program that teaches Life Skills and Core Values through the game of golf. The program is free, and open to kids ages 6-17. Equipment is provided. The Life Skills we teach are communication, self-management, goal-setting, and resistance skills. The Nine Core Values of The First Tee are Confidence, Courtesy, Honesty, Integrity, Judgment, Perseverance, Respect, Responsibility and Sportsmanship. The curriculum is delivered by trained coaches who are dedicated golf and education professionals, with the assistance of assistant coaches, volunteers and mentors.
